Editorji tries to cut through the noise of the 24-hour news cycle by offering a clean, curated feed of short videos, audio clips, and text articles. Designed primarily for the Indian market, it packages verified stories from agencies like ANI and AFP into digestible 15-minute playlists. The idea is to make catching up on national news, cricket scores, or stock market updates feel less like a chore and more like a sharp, efficient briefing.

Interface, Language, and the Daily Workflow

Navigating between video, audio, and text formats is the app's strongest selling point. I started a playlist on the Union Budget during my commute, switched to text mode when the train got crowded, and later listened to the audio version while walking. The language toggle between English, Hindi, and Bengali is easy to find. This kind of seamless workflow is rare among Indian news aggregation apps. That said, the camera and microphone permissions are mandatory if you want to share a video opinion. I rarely used this feature, as it feels more suited to active contributors than passive readers.

The notification system is aggressive by default. I subscribed to "Breaking News," "Sports," and "Elections," and the lock screen lit up frequently throughout the day. You need to spend a few minutes in settings tailoring alerts to avoid notification fatigue. The cricket scorecards are a nice touch, updating live ball-by-ball during IPL season, but the accompanying match analysis videos can be repetitive if you are already following dedicated sports outlets.

What Doesn't Work: Language Gaps and Hardware Limits

Editorji’s biggest hurdle for wider adoption is its language ceiling. For an Indian news app to only support three languages feels restrictive. A relative who is comfortable reading news in Marathi couldn't use it without switching to Hindi. This limits its utility in non-Hindi speaking states. Also, while the app runs smoothly on a modern Android phone (Android 12), it showed noticeable lag and slow stream loading on an older 5.0 device. The 44 MB download size is fair, but the performance penalty on budget hardware is real.

Should You Install Editorji?

Editorial control is strong here. The stories feel curated by a human newsroom rather than an algorithm, which helps avoid the conspiracy theory rabbit holes common on other platforms. The video journalists clearly list their sources, lending credibility. However, the depth is shallow by design. If you need nuanced analysis of geopolitical events, you will need to look elsewhere. Editorji is a smart tool for the daily briefing, but not a replacement for deep dives. For the user who wants facts fast in English, Hindi, or Bengali, it serves a specific, useful purpose.
