Overview and Purpose of Postal Vote BD

Postal Vote BD is the official mobile application developed by the Bangladesh Election Commission. It enables eligible voters to enroll remotely and track their postal ballot papers from anywhere in the world. The platform simplifies voter registration through digital identity verification, while ensuring that the actual voting process remains secure with physical ballot papers sent via postal services. This brings a practical and trustworthy way for citizens to participate in elections without being physically present at polling stations.

Enrollment and Verification Tools

The app starts with a straightforward enrollment process. Users enter their registered mobile number to create a profile, followed by an electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) step that includes facial verification with liveness detection. This confirms the voter’s identity with high accuracy. Optionally, passport details and a postal address can be provided to receive the ballot. The entire workflow is designed to be user-friendly while meeting official security standards, making it easy for both domestic and overseas voters to complete registration.

Ballot Tracking and Return Process

Once a voter is verified, a postal ballot is prepared and dispatched to the registered address. The app provides real-time delivery tracking so users can monitor the ballot’s journey. After receiving the envelope, voters scan its QR code using the app, complete a quick liveness check, and then manually mark their vote on the paper ballot. The sealed envelope is returned via postal service to the designated constituency office. This combination of digital tracking and physical voting ensures transparency while maintaining the integrity of the election process.
